LexisNexis Panel Speaker on AI in Digital Health and MedTech

Mr Gordon Chan, invited as a panel speaker at LexisNexis' “AI‑Powered Transformation of TMT: Opportunities, Risks and Regulatory Realities”, discussed the opportunities and risks of using AI in healthcare alongside other experts in AI and law.

At the launch event for Lexis+ Hong Kong Practical Guidance in TMT (Technology, Media & Telecommunications), Mr Gordon Chan spoke alongside Mr Basil Hwang, Ms Chandy Ye, and Mr Conrad Wan about the regulatory challenges posed by artificial intelligence in the TMT sector, with Mr Sum Lam moderating.

Mr Gordon Chan shared the almost miraculous use cases of AI in healthcare – diagnostic imaging and protein structure prediction. Amid the opportunities, what risks and regulatory challenges must be guarded against? The biggest risk of all is the black box nature of AI algorithms.

Other topics covered in the panel included data and cybersecurity; fraud and financial crime; FinTech and Web3.
