In an interview with TVB News, Mr Gordon Chan discussed the problems a complainant may face when complaining to the Veterinary Surgeons Board about the treatment received by his pet, including prolonged processing time and the gathering of evidence. These may be somewhat shared by the earlier experience of the Medical Council of Hong Kong.

At present, complainants of veterinarians may face many difficulties either due to the inherently technical nature of veterinary practice or in the complaint handling system and procedures. It is hoped that as the importance of animals and pets in our society rises, more attention and resources will also be put on the Veterinary Surgeons Board.
