SideBySide invited Mr Gordon Chan as a guest speaker to introduce Hong Kong’s criminal justice system to volunteers who will support the Mock Trial competition this year in various roles, including jurors, clerks, and witnesses.
It has been an engaging morning speaking with community members in the Jurors Assembly Room of the High Court about criminal law.
While the main participants are secondary school students, SideBySide’s Mock Trial competition is a meaningful event for the community for all those involved. It serves as a community education initiative in justice and crime prevention through an immersive participation experience.
